Product Description

Coda Payments offers customers the most convenient way to make purchases of digital content online: using their existing pre- or post-paid mobile accounts. For mobile operators, Coda increases subscriber loyalty and generates net-new profitable revenues; for merchants, Coda is a unique way to monetize customers that lack a traditional payment instrument. Coda operates a proprietary transaction-processing platform to process and route transactions in realtime, and it provides risk-management and settlement services to its partners.

Golden Gate Ventures is a seed fund for internet startups in Southeast Asia. With offices in Singapore and San Francisco, the fund looks to help bridge Silicon Valley and Asia through investment and mentorship. The early-stage fund invests in startups from e-commerce, to payments, to mobile apps. The portfolio includes RedMart.com (online grocery), Coda Payments (mobile payments), and Nitrous.io (web dev tools in the cloud). Since March 2012, Golden Gate Ventures has been accredited as a Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) incubator by Singapore’s National Research Foundation. GGV was founded by 3 former entrepreneurs. In Singapore, Jeffrey Paine ran the Founder Institute and was active as a start-up mentor and investor. In San Francisco, Paul Bragiel sought to build on his success of San Francisco’s i/o ventures model in new markets, and Vinnie Lauria had built Lefora.com, a hosted forum service which grew to over 100,000+ communities and was acquired in 2010. Limited Partners from Silicon Valley include notable founders such as: Dave McClure (500 Startups), Aaron Patzer (Mint.com), Russel Simmons (Paypal Mafia and Yelp.com).
